OBJECTIVE
To create a fully connected cold-plunge experience for Helsi — combining hardware, firmware, and mobile technology into a single seamless product. Our role was to design and build the IoT ecosystem, enabling users to control their ice bath remotely, manage temperature, lights, and sound, and securely pair devices through BLUFI. This included supporting firmware development, setting up AWS IoT Core infrastructure, and delivering a premium mobile app experience that brings the entire wellness system to life.

UNIQUE CHALLENGES
IoT products always live at the intersection of hardware, software, and people. For Helsi, that meant managing everything from firmware updates and secure device pairing to real-time control and performance monitoring — all while working closely with the manufacturer in China to ensure the hardware and software worked in harmony. We also had to design an intuitive user experience that made complex IoT interactions feel simple and reliable.
TECH SOLUTION
We built the entire ecosystem — app, firmware, and cloud infrastructure — using AWS IoT Core to securely connect devices, users, and data. The mobile app was developed to handle real-time communication with the ice bath, enabling users to set temperature, trigger LED lighting modes, play ambient sounds, and monitor performance remotely. On the backend, a scalable AWS architecture ensures reliability, security, and over-the-air firmware updates, allowing Helsi to continue evolving without disruption.

The result is a beautifully crafted, fully connected product experience that merges engineering and wellbeing. The Helsi Ice Plunge app delivers reliable control, intuitive design, and a foundation for future smart wellness products — helping people recover faster, live better, and maybe even learn to love the cold.
